What is a 'ABR-1'-style Bridge?

The ABR-1 type bridge is the vintage-style Gibson guitar bridge that initially came on early versions of Gibson guitars. It originally featured a retaining wire to keep the bridge saddles in place during string changes, but Gotoh have opted to remove this component as it can often cause unwanted rattle. Due to its narrower design than the Nashville-type bridge, there are three reversed saddles to enable better intonation adjustments.
