Tonerider Alnico II Blues for Stratocaster

New for 2015! Perfect for Blues and Jazz, this new set offers players touch-sensitive and sweet clean tones, without boomy bass notes or harsh trebles. Adding some overdrive reveals the smooth musicality and sustain that Alnico II offers. Scatterwound with single gauge AWG 42 wire.

The mid pickup is reverse wound for hum-cancelling operation in positions 2 and 4, and the set features a calibrated wind for better volume balance across all 5 positions.

    Alnico II Blues pickups.

I recently fitted a set of these pickups into a Squire Strat for a friend. I was expecting a big improvement, and that is certainly what I got. Very clear, good note separation, the range of tones over the spectrum of the five switch positions was excellent. My friend was and remains delighted. And by the way, my own 2 Strats are fitted with DiMarzio '55's, and Custom Shop %0's, in my honest opinion, these Tonerider pickups are quite capable of standing comparison. Very impressed.

    Tonerider Alnico 2 Blues TRS4

Fitted to my 1960 Fender CS Strat. They replaced Bare Knuckles ‘Sultans’, which is also an Alnico 2 pickup (3 x Price!). Instant improvement in: Clarity, Dynamics and Sweet sweet tones. Neck pickup milky smooth, middle pickup great for acoustic type rhythm & a bridge pickup more than worthy of using on its own. Also better integration of levels (pickups get hotter towards the bridge). All this gives you, in-between sounds that are to die for.
