Jazzmaster Pickup Set - Vintage Japanese Spec

Shipping Info

Jazzmaster pickups are usually associated with the sounds of 50’s Californian surf music. However, they also produce an excellent range of tones for blues and rock n' roll. Legendary

Jazzmaster players including Mickey Baker and Elvis Costello, to name a few are proof!

The Jazzmaster pickup is a true single-coil pickup. From start to finish, and works just like the famous single coils on the Stratocaster and Telecaster. The construction of Jazzmaster pickups does have some notable differences when compared to other more common single-coil pickups. They have a wider surface area which translates to a wider frequency response and, because the wire travels further with each turn, the pickup has a higher output.

This completely unique design is what gives Jazzmaster pickups that dark, warm but still very much a single coil tone. The larger surface area of coil 'senses' more of the string, resulting in that fatter, fuller sound.
