This ever popular, widely used vintage Gavitt braided wire is a must for any electrics upgrade or repair to your Les Paul or SG. 

This 2 strand braided version is exactly the same wire found on vintage Gibson Les PAul and SG models.

Braided wire is essentially 2 wires in one, and it’s a necessity when working in the tight spaces of a Les paul/SG control cavity. 

The outer braid acts as a ground when soldered to the back of volume pots. Pulling back the outer sheath reveals the insulated tinned copper core which acts as a hot/live.

Well insulated electronics help reduce unwanted feedback and hum. We recommend using heat shrink tubing when installing braided guitar wire for extra protection, particularly inside the control cavity of a Les Paul or SG where the braid (ground) can come into contact with other components resulting in an unwanted short circuit
